Heroic Comportment was performed at San Francisco’s de Young Museum, as a response to, and in the gallery with, visual artist Deborah Oropallo’s exhibition, ‘Guise.’ Heroic Comportment not only juxtaposes hyper-feminine glamour and mythic male heroics, but seeks to transform them both, creating a heroics of glamour. The piece makes a passing nod both to the ’08 presidential race and the TV/ Film phenomenon Jackass.
