Am I Square (created with Liz Tenuto), deals with compartmentalization, integration and intimacy. With an eye toward both the humor and poignancy of what it is to fully function while fully aware, we took information from sources as disparate as the outrageous and outraged female characters of filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and the crossroads of ballet and Feldenkrais (aka the pelvis). We considered how dance practices forge intimate relationships between bodies that may never result in people knowing about or sharing the other details of their lives.
