Instant Performance from the Drag Bag
How does what we put on our bodies change how we move, how we behave, who we are or who we think we are? A costume might limit our movement, but liberate a character we didn’t know existed inside ourselves.
In this workshop we will work quickly, using found costumes, creating costumes from unusual materials and finally, generating performances directly inspired, influenced and propelled by costume.
I provide a drag bag full of clothing pieces and crafting supplies. Participants should bring their imaginations and any characters that may lurk there, and wear clothing (leggings & t-shirts, etc.) that they can move in and layer other items on top of.
Three-hour or six-hour versions of this workshop are available.
